Sabres Out Of Playoffs
The Sabres beat the Hurricanes5 – 1 on Thursday night in the RBC Centre in Carolina. Goaltender Miller was sharp tonight which made the Sabres dominate one of the hottest teams in the NHL. The Rangers won their game to lock up the eighth position knocking out Sabres for the playoffs.

The Sabres must win tonight in Toronto against the Maple Leafs to have any hope of getting into the playoffs at all. The Sabres 3-1 win over the Leafs on Wednesday night they are still in. Sabres Win In Overtime
The Sabres played Washington Capitals at the Verizon Center Wednesday night in Washington and won 5-4 in overtime with a big mistake by the Capitals. Fedorov made a weak backhand pass up the middle that was intercepted by Connolly and then passed the puck to Pominville for the breakaway that produced the game-winning goal in overtime. The playoff race is becoming tighter after tonight’s game with the Panthers loss. The Sabres have 85 points which makes them just four points behind eighth-place Rangers,and just two points behind ninth-place Panthers.

Ruff becomes the teacher now so Sabres will get into the playoffs, with a lot of luck. The Sabres need these players to score more goals now Vanek, Roy and Stafford. Sabres Get One Point
It does not look good for the Sabres to make it to the eighth position to get into the playoffs. The Thrashers beat the Sabres in 3-2 in overtime for a victory Wednesday night in Philips Arena.The Sabres still have six games left to make up a five-point deficit to catch the Canadiens and four-point deficit to catch up to Panthers. The Sabres have 83 points now. The Canadiens and the Panthers must lose four games for the Sabres to have a chance. Sabres must win five out of the last six games.

Sabres Tough Stretch
The Buffalo Sabres are in another wicked stretch of three games in four nights,to stay alive in the playoff picture. Sabres have to face two strong teams starting Friday game at Washington and Saturday visit to HSBC Arena by New Jersey Devils. The Sabres have 82 points with seven games to play but things got more serious Tuesday night as Canadiens defeated Blackhawks, 4-1, while Panthers downed Senators,5-2. At 82 points, the Sabres are five points behind Panthers and six points behind Canadiens, although Buffalo Sabres has two games in hand over the Panthers and one over the Canadiens. The Sabres know the odds are not good for them to make the playoffs. In 11 days, they will play a tough schedule, they will probably need at least five or six wins in seven games. They will need luck.
